Ruby Red Shoes
SLR was born in Wisconsin and raised in the Connecticut shoreline town of Madison. Her Dad is a salesman and Mom a vocational rehab counselor, and both loved listening to all kinds of music. Early on, young Sarah Lou was hearing the records of singer/songwriters including Carole King, John Sebastian, and Van Morrison. Sarah Lou was a Music Education major at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She combined that with an incredible work ethic and energy to record a 5-song debut EP Emerald City, then followed that with a full-length album of originals called Ruby Red Shoes (2010), produced by BlackHawk frontman Henry Paul, one of Sarah Lou’s most enthusiastic supporters and mentors.
