The History of Joseph Schorer and His Breweries in Sauk City and Elroy, Wisconsin

$10.00
In stock

Follow the exploits of German farmer and brewer Joseph Schorer from his immigration in 1854 to his death in Elroy in 1887. Along the way Schorer wore many hats. Starting out as a Sauk County farmer, he next established a brewery in Sauk City. He then ran a saloon in Merrimac before starting yet another brewery in Elroy. He finished his life farming once again. It's a tale familiar to the lives of millions of other 19th century German immigrants. News stories and maps help narrate the story. As an added bonus an appendix has been added to help detail Sauk City's four other breweries, including the original Leinenkugel brewery.
